Now that the hour has come off and the nights are much longer, it’s great to get out on a sunday with friends and family. And to make sure you have you high vis gear with you incase the journey home takes a little longer than expected!
I feel so lucky to be living in this part of the world as cycling is so accessible, wherever you are based in our region. I especially like cycling to work thorugh Jesmond Dene…
…as well as around the blyth area, and along the former railway tracks through New Hartley and Holywell Dene at the weekend. And when I get the chance, I love to go to Kielder Forrest, and parts of the Coast and Castles route around Bamburgh and Holy Island.
Last time we stayed up that way, we were really freaked out by an eerie, wind-like, whistling noise at night- until we learned from the locals that it was the seals singing!
Don’t forget your high-vis wear, as even during the day, it can get a little gloomy!
We have our Altura Hi Vis Blitz waterproof jacket on sale at £49.99 at the moment (RRP £59.99), and have a great range of light sets starting from £17.99 including brackets and batteries.
I’m looking forward to trying the cycling paths around Derwentside at the weekend, and hopefully cathcing some more of the lovely autumn hues before winter sets in.
